Description
FSR #97F is a forest road in the Lake Russell Wildlife Management Area. It's useful for connecting a different loop between the Frady Branch and the southern end of the Lake Russell gravel road system.
If traveling counterclockwise on Red Root Road, look for the obvious four-way intersection of dirt roads and turn left. There is a horse camp right there. At the end, continue on the gravel road to head toward Frady Branch, or turn left into the trees to head back towards Guard Camp Road (FSR #87). It technically turns into Latham Road (FSR #87C) at this point. This intersection has recently been improved to make the left turn more obvious.
If traveling clockwise from Frady Branch, just stay on the road. If traveling clockwise from Latham Road (FSR #87C), turn right to go to Red Root Road (FSR #92) or turn left to go to Frady Branch when you hit the dirt road.
