Description

Unless you trust in your gps device under any condition, you should go with a local guide on your first time out on this rugged route. Be especially careful when there's mist/fog present. It can easily make you lose your path.

It's a route where you can suffer from hypoxia because it's all high altitude. The route has milestones outlining the elevation and distance you've traveled.

The landscape is from another world... Mars maybe? Be sure to bring good clothes both for sun exposure and inclement weather.

Depending on seasonality, there will be two or three river crossings. The first point is the Domo, a kind of giant rock which represents the first big turning on left. You'll finally reach the 'Alto de Mifafí' to continue to the left in the base of a ridge, with a medium ascent. After that, the trail skirts along various valleys.

Flora & Fauna

Frailejon (Espeletia) plants are all around the trail.
