Overview
Once you get to the summit, you'll see amazing 360-degree views with Colorado mountains to the east and the desert of Canyonlands National Park to the west.
Runner Notes
During the summer, make this run early in the morning, before the almost daily thunderstorms fire up in the mountains.
Description
The Mann's Peak Trail starts at top of Burro Pass. You can start your run at the Geyser Pass parking area to the
Burro Pass Trail #315. When you get to Burro Pass you'll see the sign to start the climb up to the top of Manns Peak (12,273 ft.).
The Manns Peak Trail follows the ridgeline up to the summit. The trail is easy to follow until you get above tree line, and then you'll have to follow the cairns and there are some rock steps that have been built in the scree field. Once you get to the summit, you'll see amazing 360-degree views with Colorado mountains to the east and the desert of Canyonlands National Park to the west.
From the summit, you can go back down to the start or make a loop, by going west along the edge of the ridge to Jackass Pass and Dry Fork / Beaver Basin Trail. This will take you back to the
Burro Pass Trail #315.
Flora & Fauna
You may see some ground rodents in the rocks. There are some of the most beautiful tiny flowers that bloom for short periods during the summer/fall. In the fall, you'll have great views of the aspens as they change colors.
