Description

This trail starts from the Dog Mountain Trail #147 in the large meadow directly below the open area that passes for the summit. It contours across the slope, offering big views of the gorge in the process. The meadows it traverses could pass for huge wildflower gardens during the spring and early summer. In another 0.4 miles, the trail enters the forest and, 0.5 miles later, ends at the Augspurger Trail #4407.

You can use this tie trail to reach the summit of Dog from the Augspurger Trail #4407, which is useful on busy summer weekends. Or you can use it to form a loop run by going up the Dog Mountain Trail and down the the Augspurger Trail #4407.
