Runner Notes
If you're looking for elevation gain, this is an easy way to quickly add 150+ ft to your run if you access it from within the park.
Description
This trail can be accessed from its trailhead at either end.
If you choose to park at the end of Hillcrest Drive, the trailhead for Hillcrest Trail should be immediately obvious with the blue blaze and the entrance gate. This will be a brief rocky descent into Jonathan's Woods giving you immediate access to
Ford Trail (Red) and
Ridge-Mudhole Trail (Yellow).
If you are coming from within Jonathan's Woods, you can reach this trail from either the
Ford Trail (Red) or
Ridge-Mudhole Trail (Yellow). The trail itself is short with a lot of exposed rock. If you're looking to add a brief ascent to get some elevation in your run, this is an easy way to do it.
At the top of Bald Hill, you can get some nice glimpses of Cedar Lake down below.
