Description
The Weeping Rock Trail connects the larger loops of the
Chinquapin Ridge Trail/
Point Ann Trail systems with the main part of the park—the overlook, Bridal Veil Falls, etc.
The trail itself can be picked up either at the north end of the main parking area or the homestead parking area. Both points have good signage.
Starting from the main parking area, the trailhead is found just south of the concession stand. Short, rolling hills lead to the connection with the Hickory Ridge mounds area; it's a short but very pretty detour.
After about a quarter of a mile, the tread transitions from lime chip to straight dirt, though the path is wide. There are a few switchbacks before the junction with
Chinquapin Ridge Trail, and a few stout climbs, but nothing extended or overly strenuous.
