Need to Know

Camping: Only primitive (tent) camping is allowed on the trail. Camping permits are free. Contact Tioga State Forest Office.

Water: Water is available along the trail at stream crossings. There is less water on the southern half of the trail during summer. All water must be purified in order to be considered safe to drink.

Wildlife Warning! In the spring and fall porcupine like to chew anything oil based, please take care to put moth balls around parked cars and do not leave any shoes, etc. out over night. During the summer there are A LOT of rattle snakes, be careful and do not let dogs roam free, leash only!
