Trail Run Project Logo

A long run following one of NZ's "great walks". Good, level trail the whole way.

Need to Know

Weather can turn fairly quickly in fiordland, so make sure you bring appropriate gear. There are two huts immediately on the track (more off the main trail). These huts have toilets and drinking water. They're also used by other runners, so have sinks, beds, fireplaces, etc.

You can usually drink the river water from within Fiordland, but be mindful of the water quality in lower Greenstone Valley (livestock are run here).

Flora & Fauna

Numerous native species, including the endangered Mohua or yellow-head.
