No off-trail running in the Conservation Area.
Description
This trail was a specific request by the Department of Conservation so users could gain access to the Caroline Sheridan Logan Memorial Wildlife Area. Currently, the Wildlife Area is foot-traffic only. The northernmost part of this little loop roughly follows the boundary. As always, it's important to remain on designated trails within the Conservation Area.
The loop can be done in either direction. Clockwise travel will give you steeper climbs and longer downhill sections (compared to the climbs). If climbing isn't your thing, running counterclockwise offers more fun. The less finished section in the center will offer a little challenge but the easy downhill rewards are worth it.
The west side of the loop is very pretty as it climbs toward the Wildlife Area. This section is heavily benched on a steep hillside providing ample room. Near the high point on the east side, the only scenic overlook for this specific trail peeks through the bluffs to the west. One can even see a little bit of Kansas during the winter months.
Accessing this trail from the
Logan's Run trailhead is the most direct way (and most fun) to get to it. Most riders use
Logan's Run from the
Sunbridge Hills Conservation Area main loop.
