Dogs Leashed
Description
Just like it's sister trail, the
White Rock Creek Trail, it allows for several starting/stopping points along the way. It begins/ends, depending on direction of travel, at a junction with the
White Rock Creek Trail just north of Royal Lane. The trail will head directly north with clear signage to show you are on the correct path.
This trail follows Cottonwood Creek, which is a fairly small creek compared to others around the area. You only travel a short ways before the trail passes by the Forest Lane Transit Station. Continue to follow the creek northwards in parallel to Highway 75 until you eventually pass under I-635. Not far after this, the trail continues north along Esperanza Road merging with the street a time or two until it reaches its terminus just south of W. Spring Valley Road.
It is worth noting that along this trail there are several connectors that link up with the path, but as long as you follow the posted signage and stick to the double-lane trail, you shouldn't have any issue staying on course.
Overall, while this trail doesn't share the same isolation as others in the area, it is an effective commuting/exercise trail for local folks, especially if you need an easy and safe way to cross I-635 on foot.
