Description

This is a singletrack path traversing the south shore of Lake Meredith from Harbor Bay to South Turkey Creek. The first section is 6.17 miles leading to an ~4 mile loop, giving you 12 mile and 16 mile run options.

The first six miles winds in and out of the bluffs along the lake into small side canyons. There are numerous burrows in the trail so watch for the potholes (and the critters that frequent them). The bluffs can be steep and a little tricky (one section of riprap to repair flooding damage from fall 2017 comes to mind). Take it easy as a tumble could leave you seriously injured or worse in these sections.

The four mile loop along Turkey Creek is relatively tame with some deep sand sections. You can come up on sand/loose dirt along numerous sections of the entire trail, so run cautiously until you are familiar with the trail. There are brief sections of doubletrack along the loop, but the connections with the singletrack trail are well marked.

Lots of spiders hanging in their webs across the trail this time of year. A few spots where vegetation encroaches and gave some shin scratches. 12.2mi — 1h 54m
