Need to Know
Plenty of rambling to be done around the shores of the lake, and if you want to get on the lake, the boat dock offers hourly rentals and loads of opportunities to see the waterfowl (and of course the Great Blue Heron!).
Description
This trail is a neat respite from the surrounding asphalt and noise of the park. It starts at either end of the park; one side starts at an "adventure station" complete with log maze for the kids and a mini rope course, the other at a picnic shelter. Either way, you wind your way along the banks of Shaker Creek, and run past some really cool old trees that are host to a great variety of birds.
Flora & Fauna
Birds, including woodpeckers and redwing blackbirds, butterflies. Ferns, hardwood trees and several wildflowers that I can't identify.
