Need to Know

Practice Leave No Trace and only observe the Moqui Balls. Do not take any, as it is not permitted.

Description

From the parking area, follow the trail to the left. To the right is the Butterfly Trail. Eventually, the trail reaches slickrock. Climb up the steep slickrock hill. Watch for white blazes and eventually you'll see metal domes with white blazes marking the way. When in doubt, follow the Trail Run Project mobile app.

At the highest point, you'll have great views of Snow Canyon. Be sure to look down to see thousands of Moqui Balls. The trail descends to the right on steep slickrock steps. The trail crosses the Three Ponds Trail but continues on for a short distance to an outstanding viewpoint. Return the way you came or make part of a loop run.
