Need to Know
Be aware of FERAL PIGS while running any of the trails within the McGee Creek Natural Scenic Recreation Area (NSRA).
Please ensure someone knows where you are, should you choose to spend the night in the NRSA. Poachers do exist in and around the area, and the Park Ranger is not always available. The trailhead is more than nine miles off the two-lane highway and the road to the trailhead is not maintained the way we would hope. Cell phone service barely exist, if at all, and it will take time for help to get to you....once they have been notified.
**Try not to worry about strange sounds you may hear. The strange sounds contribute to pretty decent campfire stories.
Description
When running in the area, you'll want to be sure to know where you are as the trails are not all properly maintained. The painted markings on the trees eventually fade out and become difficult to see. Due to the level of use, some of the trails simply become part pf the landscape.
