Sage Hills trails are closed from December 1 to April 1 annually.

Description

The top portion of this hardpack singletrack trail is along the edge of the forest ecosystem, taking you through plenty of wildflowers in the spring, and descends through a bunch of switchbacks, opening up to views of the valley as you head down into the dustier sage brush. The switchback turns get tighter as you get closer to the center of Sage Hills, at times taking you pretty close to the edge (probably a few nervous spots for those not-so-fond of heights!). A trail in a fun, dynamic environment trail, this makes a great loop with Glacier View Trail, Apricot Crisp, Little Moab, and Foothills Trail (if you start at the Horselake Trailhead).

Flora & Fauna

Keep an eye out for rattlesnakes in summer.
