This trail is unmarked with the exception of a few cairns along the route. It forms the upper part of the Pirin Vertical Kilometer.
From the shelter, follow the trail that jigs around a small rock face. Above this, the trail climbs steeply up a grassy face studded with loose rocks. The higher you climb, the more rocky the trail becomes.
After about 500 meters and 200-ish meters of elevation gain, you attain the ridge. Continue on the ridge for the remaining kilometer until you reach the peak. Beware that at certain points along the ridge there is dramatic exposure to the north.
