Be sure to allow time to relax on the long sand beach which stretches all the way down the point. There are several side trails over to the beach.

There are sandy areas which make running difficult

This is an easy flat trail along Park Point which juts miles out into Lake Superior. Start at the beach house where there is plenty of parking. Run through the open field along Minnesota Avenue then around the tiny airport along the runway. Follow the trail through the wooded area and enjoy nice views of the largest freshwater lake in the world.

The trail ends at the end of Park Point at the original opening to the bay (the lift bridge canal was built later). The lighthouse on the left is Minnesota and the lighthouse on the right is Wisconsin.
