Need to Know

Sometimes it can be a bit muddy in the spring, but don't let that stop you.

Runner Notes

I've run this many, many times. I've always had to walk up the first bit until the ridge is gained, but from then on, it's a fantastic run. Along the ridge, as you can see from the elevation profile, there is just one hill-crux. Run through it!

Description

Begin at Wild Rose Park or the Woodbriar Trailhead, the latter being a shorter run to the start. Make your way up the steep hill to gain the ridge. Once gained, enjoy a well-worn trail along the ridge and through happy clearings. Eventually, you'll join up with the grand junction well up above Wild Rose and overlooking the mouth of City Creek Canyon.

Flora & Fauna

I've seen some porcupines up here. The deer will sometimes stare a bit before bouncing off.
