Description

This is currently the longest single trail in the Chapman Mountain Nature Preserve. Access it by taking the Moonshine Trail south from the Land Trust parking lot. The trail is a singletrack, mostly devoid of rocks and roots, but is fairly steep in areas. Being a newer trail, undergrowth crowds the trail in areas. Expect your shoes to brush poison ivy in places. The trail ends at the Land Trust boundary, and you can take the Whole Planet Trail back to the Moonshine Trail, or trace your steps back for a 2.2 mile out-and-back.

Flora & Fauna

Plenty of poison ivy. Also a wide variety of birds, including indigo buntings, towhees, cardinals, and various warblers
