Permit and reservation is needed for the Brazeau Lake Trail Camp. It can be gotten online at the Parks Canada permit/reservation website:
https://reservation.pc.gc.ca/
Description
The Brazeau Lake Camp Spur can be found 1.3 miles (2km) from the Poboktan Pass/South Boundary Trail junction, at the end of
Poboktan Pass Trail. This turnoff for the Brazeau Lake Trail Camp is at the north end of a sturdy bridge over the Brazeau Lake outlet river, a significant fork of the Brazeau River.
The Brazeau Lake Camp Spur runs through the fir forest along the Brazeau Lake outlet river that is to the left (south) of the trail. The Brazeau Lake Trail Camp is reached after about 0.25 mile (500m).
At the Brazeau Lake Trail Camp, to the right (west) of the picnic tables that overlook Brazeau Lake, is a trail into the forest. Taking this trail, one emerges from the forest onto the beach, almost immediately. Veering right (northwest), it is an easy run along the beach to enjoy the beauty of this large, beautiful, turquoise lake and mountains that surround it with their snowfields and glaciers.
