Need to Know
Watch the weather before starting, as almost the entire run is above tree line.
Description
A 5.4-mile trail along the top of Elliot Ridge. The trail is almost entirely above tree line so the weather must be taken into account. Once to the end of the trail, it is still a ways to get below treelike on the Mirror Lake Trail. The trail is a steady incline leading up to the valley before Eagles Nest Mountain. There are great views of the valleys on both sides and the surrounding mountains.
After about 4 or 4.5 miles in, the trail gets harder to follow. The trail follows the county boundary, and there are posts denoting this. Continue along with these and continue uphill. You'll come to a sign around 5.4 miles marking the trailhead for the Mirror Lake Trail/Upper Cataract Trail.
Flora & Fauna
Not a lot of flowers or trees with being above tree line. There were a good number of birds around however.
