Description

Gunsight Connector starts just south of the Slate River parking lot on County Road 734. It will take you up a singletrack mountain trail for 2.3 miles, connecting with Smith Hill Road three-quarters of the way up to the ridgeline.

This run is mostly shaded in a dense aspen forest with small breaks in the trees to get views of Mt. Crested Butte and the valley looking toward Scarp Ridge.

Keep an eye out for mountain bikers, as they typically will be coming down the trail towards you as you ascend.

Flora & Fauna

Mostly aspens and lots of chipmunks.
