Description
Leaving from Kobilino Branishte stay on the orange-blazed trail that ascends calmly along the creek side. After a few hundred meters, you'll come to small crossing; continue straight on the worn trail, however, keeping your eyes open for further markings.
The trail ascends gradually as it heads west. At the 2.5km mark, the trail turns slightly north and begins to climb more aggressively. It continues this as you reach Popovokapski Lake at around 3.5km. From here, the trail continues on the steep incline, climbing up a couloir to the ridge line.
From the ridge line, you traverse following the technical trail; there is a long section of fixed rope to help balance your way down on this exposed section. Continue further until you reach Strashno Ezera (Scary Lake). The trail continues up the rise next to the shelter then downward again.
The trail continues to wind its way down past another pair of lakes before a brief climb. From there, its literally all downhill over rocky terrain. With about 1 km to go, you reach the main descent, a narrow, very steep and slippery trail that parallels the river. Be careful here, as trail is slippery and technical; you can choose to rock hop down to the main trail at the end or to take the bypass to the hut.
