Runner Notes

While a little more technical than most BV area trails, this route provides a fun challenge with some punchy little climbs.

Description

With a few short & steep, rocky climbs, Broken Boyfriend South provides a more technical challenge than most of the town-facing trails in Buena Vista. Like most BV trails, views are abundant.

Broken Boyfriend South can be runed in either direction, but heading south will have you climbing up the steep sections, rather than down them. Access Broken Boyfriend South off of CR304. Head up the well-signed trail until you reach a junction with Broken Boyfriend North. Stay right towards Midland Hill Trail (6032) & Broken Boyfriend South. You'll soon take another right, as Midland Hill Trail (6032) breaks off to the left.

Enjoy just over a mile of some great, sometimes challenging, singletrack, as well as great views of Mt. Princeton & the Sawatch Range. The trail terminates back on CR304. Turn right on the road will take you back to your starting point. If you're looking for more miles. head across CR304 & straight down the driveway, to Camp Elevation Trail. Take Camp Elevation North if you're heading to town & more trail options.

Flora & Fauna

Deer, lizards, mountain lions.
