Runner Notes
You'll be doing some rock scrambling and there is a shear drop-off one side. I would not advise people trying the trail when wet. Also be aware the wooden ramp near the top is pretty slick does have wedges for traction. Also be careful if using the ladder in the small washed out cave—it isn’t mounted and there isn’t much flat space to support it well.
Description
You can start at the top or bottom of the mountain. If starting at the top, there is a short, easy section with multiple, small overlooks and a nice stone-covered sitting area. Following the trail past the shelter involves dropping down into a small cave which has a wooden ladder (but it’s not mounted, so don’t trust it as it’s maybe a 3-4 ft. drop). From there, you go down a small, wooden ramp and follow a small, rocky trail that follows the cliff face.
The trail involves some rock scrambling and there is a fairly shear drop-off to one side on most of the trail, so I wouldn’t recommend it for inexperienced runners. There are plenty of rocks, roots, and slopes that get very slick when wet, so I recommend going only in dry weather.
