This trail is also open to bikes.
Runner Notes
Generally smooth trail surface, nice for running. Only a few steep bits and a couple sharp turns.
Description
This trail has many access points with ample parking lots scattered along the length, making it easy to create trips of any length with pick up options.
Although technically a "green" trail with generally easy trail surface and little elevation gain, there are a few tight turns towards the south end to negotiate and a couple of short steep bits. Not a problem for a runner, but may sneak up on an unwary biker, so runners beware of other users!
The Cheakamus River is a constant companion along this trail, you'll hear it rushing along very near the trail. There are few opportunities to clearly view the river and the river banks are steep. So don't plan to reach the water to cool your feet or wade in the glacial torrent! Half way along the trail is a surprising suspension bridge (McLaurin's Crossing). From here, you can access the trail system to the east of the Cheakamus.
