Description

Hotshot trail intersects with Lambda Chops in two places. The recommended travel direction is counter-clockwise starting at the north intersection. This helps to avoid the slightly steeper climb on the south leg of the trail.

Most of the trail is narrow singletrack that is smooth and gravelly. There are a few sections of cobble and a couple of short sections of rock piles. There may be some sandy stretched on the north section in the dry summer months. Keep an eye out for cholla which creep into the trail In the lower elevation sections. They are known to hitch an uncomfortable ride on unsuspecting fingers and legs. Snow and ice linger on the shaded north and east faces, especially between miles one and 1.5. Overall the trail is in very good condition.
