Description

This is a well-maintained trail with a great running surface. Starting at a parking pullout at a creek crossing on the Lead King road, the trail climbs gradually through tall conifer forest, then makes a scrappy detour to get around stream cobbles. After crossing a creek, the trail then climbs through pretty aspen forest and opens up in meadows, then ascends a cool ridgelet feature with streams on either side until it meets the junction with Carbonate Creek/Buckskin Trail #1971 and Arkansas Mountain Trail #1965.

Beautiful 100% tho not well maintained. I didn't find it runnable much (or carbonate trail). Stream crossings will be tough in spring/early summer. 12mi — 5h 41m
