A scenic trail up a broad alpine valley to Yule Pass, quite manageable for the Ragged Range. The trail is very steep for the first half mile out of the parking lot on the Yule Quarry road, then eases off until another short steep section to a pass at 1.1 miles. A short, steep drop takes you to a creek crossing, then the trail meanders up the valley at a nice grade all the way to Yule Pass, passing several slick-rock cascades. At times brush-choked, but mostly clear.

Entering the last, highest section of open valley it is easy to lose the trail in a broad meadow of skunk cabbage; stay high and aim for the road grade that climbs to Yule pass. The final climb is a great running grade and mostly smooth.
