Occasional mudslides cause headaches and make the mostly paved path treacherous.
Need to Know
Pit toilets at parking, picnic tables on the cliffs.
Description
This is a short, mostly paved path leading to the beach (and a myriad of choices of where to go from there) that drops you right in front of Greyhound Rock. Along the path there are several benches to rest for those not acclimated to the steep terrain. Grasses and native flowers literally push up against you most of the time, giving this a much more rural feeling than it is in reality.
For those who do not want to make the climb, there are benches and a lovely picnic area at the top and a disabled viewing area that allows everyone to take in this fantastic jewel of Santa Cruz County.
Flora & Fauna
Grasses, succulents, multiple types of birds including the plover!
