Description
Knob Trail is found along
Knibbs Knob Trail, 1.6 miles from the
Knibbs Knob Trail trailhead.
Circling Knibbs Knob, Knob Trail gradually climbs to the top of Knibbs Knob. The slopes of Knibbs Knob drop off steeply to the right of the trail as one climbs. Due to the steep dropoffs, the views are unblocked and spectacular in all directions as one circles around Knibbs Knob on this trail. Vast stretches of the Santa Cruz Mountains can be seen in all directions, including Loma Prieta, the tallest of the Santa Cruz Mountains at 3,786 feet, to the northwest. To the east, beyond the Santa Cruz Mountains and Santa Clara Valley, the Diablo Range can be seen in the far distance.
The top of Knibbs Knob is flat and largely wooded, providing welcome shade, especially over the picnic table in the middle of the flat top area.
Flora & Fauna
Vegetation is a mix of low brush and wooded areas. There are deer.
