Description
The trail begins with switchbacks climbing a small hill and continues along the juniper/piñon covered hillside on bench-cut trail. There are several benches spaced along the trail for rest with great views of the Mesa and Cuba Valley. The trail crosses several arroyos before climbing to the foot of Cuba Mesa. The trail officially terminates as you approach Cuba Mesa but you can continue on small game trails to the top of the Mesa for spectacular views.
Flora & Fauna
Piñon, Juniper trees, king cup cactus, collared, horned and blue belly lizards. Red-Tailed hawks, American Kestrel, bull and rattle snakes possible, deer and elk as well.
