Description

The cross was erected in 1976 to commemorate the 1776 expedition of Fathers Dominguez and Escalante from New Mexico, the first white men to enter Utah Valley at this point.

Start by following the Hidden Oak Trail from the Spanish Fork Campground for the first quarter mile (watch for the bench). Turn left; the trail goes northeast where it climbs out of the canyon onto a ridge. Follow the ridge down to the cross.
