Description
The access road to the trailhead isn't paved; travel at your own risk. The parking area is 100 yds. west of the trail start. This trail follows sky blue blazes. It enters the woods off Berlin Road, and travels over a series of bog bridges and muddy spots. Around 0.7 miles, the trail passes an old privy then descends to a brook. It crosses the brook then ascends steeply up to the ridge. The trail reaches a stand of hemlock trees then traverses along the crest of the ridge. It climbs to the MA/NY border and ends at the
Old Berlin Mountain Ski Trail. Berlin Mountain is a short distance to the left; the
Taconic Crest Trail is just past the summit. Here, there are excellent views of Mount Greylock and the surrounding mountains.
