Need to Know
Martin Park Nature Center has guided hikes, educational programs, and an interactive learning center, in addition to trails. The visitor center has great educational displays of animals and plants found here. Take the time to stop by and check it out.
Description
Courage Trail is a flat woodland trail that starts from the parking lot and passes the visitor center almost immediately. From there, a pond is passed and then the trail reaches Spring Creek and begins to follow it. Very short side paths lead to the banks of both the pond and creek.
Continuing to follow the creek, although still in the woods, a grassy meadow can be seen to the right. If lucky, one will see white tailed deer here. About halfway around the Courage Trail loop, a bridge to the left leads to
Trail C. Continue straight here to stay on Courage Trail.
Shortly after passing the bridge, Courage Trail veers right, crosses a service road and continues through the woods. After about another 0.2 miles, the Courage Trail comes out of the woods as it returns to its starting point at the parking lot.
