Need to Know
There is ample parking and a fully serviced chalet that is open during the winter when trail passes are required.
Runner Notes
This is not an ideal trail for running. Without a snow cover, the surface is generally damp and stumps and roots present some obstacles.
Description
From the quarry, there is a hill at the beginning of Fox Trot that leads to the first
Games Trail crossing and then it is mostly level until it intersects with
Games Trail again at the end. Combined with the bit of
Games Trail leading towards the highway, it makes a nice easy circuit.
Off season, this is a fairly wet trail for running, but it's a useful shortcut to Daredevil Rock Trail. Snowshoers sometimes use this as a shortcut as well.
Flora & Fauna
From the quarry to the first
Games Trail crossing, the summer footpath is through white caribou moss (lichen) but as the trail gets damper, ground cover is sphagnum moss and Labrador Tea. Birch, willows and alders line the trail in the previously burnt area.
