Need to Know
A fully serviced chalet is open during ski season and there is a parking area nearby. Trail passes are required for use of ski and snowshoe trails. There are no summer use fees, but donations are appreciated.
Description
Robin's Route branches off
Games Trail right by the groomer building and leads directly to the chalet. It's all up hill. By the chalet, the trail crosses the access road to the parking area and continues past the beginning of
Snowshoe Trail A1 into beautiful woods. There is some uphill and down and then it levels to join
Games Trail at the top of OMG Hill. Using Robin's Route to cut off OMG Hill on
Games Trail provides a fast route back to the chalet. From the chalet, Robin's Route is used to access all other trails.
Flora & Fauna
Jack pine were planted in the previously burnt area in front of the chalet right down to
Games Trail and they frame the beginning of the trail. There are cherry and birch and carpets of wildflowers through the summer. The wooded trail behind the chalet is a carpet of moss through mature spruce. In the boggy area where snowshoe trail B1 crosses over you'll find bakeapples and other bog plants. The dry surface trail between
Jackrabbit Loop and
Games Trail is one of the better areas to find redberries.
