This road/trail starts off of the Glade Top Scenic Byway. Following vandalism, the sign for Wildcat Road was removed and only a post remains, marking the entry. Continue down a wide gravel trail with two campsites about a mile north. There is an old stone fence located on the west side of the trail.
At the northern apex of the trail, you'll find the Merriman family cemetery with many grave markers dating back to to the early 20th century. Past the cemetery, the trail curves sharply (private property boundary marked with purple). Depending on the season, a creek crossing is necessary here to connect to the other adjacent trails. The trail is shared with horses and ATVs, haphazardly marked with a mix of orange and pink marking tape.
