Description

Described downhill as the third leg of the Doublecamp Loop. This trail starts steep and you'll get plenty of it, and the low foot traffic means plenty of leaves to slip on. Along the easygoing upper part of the trail, look for plenty of steel cable and coal, remnants of the areas past logging. The trail continues downward steeply in places while overlooking an open stream valley. Wildflowers peek through the leaf litter in early spring, though not in any mind blowing abundance. Unlike its sister trail, Crowder Branch #84, the easygoing lower section of this stream-side trail has almost no stream crossings. Soon you meet the trailhead on Doublecamp - Jake Best (TN-FSR2659). There is a 0.8 mile roadside run back to your car if you have no shuttle.
