Coming out of Randy's Ridge or Rita's Upper By-Pass, little dips into and out of rock wash crossings give the trail a little something to pay attention to.

You'll eventually pass a tree feature where the trail leads to the right. It seems like the trail went left/straight originally, but has since been cut off by branches. Heading into the mountain northbound, the trail narrows and gets quite technical with the steep switchback up to Kylie's Crossing.
