Need to Know
Wooden bridges can be slippery when wet—use caution!
Description
The trailhead for the Moss Creek section of Hector H. Henry II is at Odell Elementary School. The trail follows the elementary school parking lot and then has a bridge crossing a wetland. After the bridge, the trail follows the athletic field perimeter of Harris Road Middle School. There is another short bridge crossing and then the continues straight to follow the banks of the Rocky River.
There are two access trails to the Moss Creek neighborhood. Before reaching the end of the trail, there is an observation deck overlooking the wetland that is ideal for birding and wildlife watching. The trail ends near Astoria Lane in the Moss Creek neighborhood.
This segment of greenway will connect to future greenways as part of the City of Concord's 14-mile greenway project named in honor of Council Member Hector H. Henry II.
Parking is available at Odell Elementary School (1215 Moss Farm Street North West, Concord, 28027.)
