Need to Know
This trail is a mixture of paved greenway, gravel, and natural surface trail.
Description
Stuart Cramer HS Trail begins as a 0.1-mile sidewalk connection at the intersection of Lake Drive and Lakewood Road toward the high school. At the double-post
Carolina Thread Trail sign, the paved trail becomes gravel and runs behind and around the football field and tennis courts.
The trail is then paved and runs alongside the baseball fields. After the baseball fields, the trail becomes natural surface as it enters the forested area and wetland for 0.3 miles until the end of the trail at Eagle Road.
From Stuart Cramer High School, you can cross Lakewood Road and follow stencils through the neighborhood that lead to Goat Island Park and trail.
Parking is available at Stuart Cramer High School (101 Lakewood Rd, Belmont, NC 28012).
Flora & Fauna
Mallard ducks and other wetland creatures are commonly seen along the trail.
