The Carolina Thread Trail portion of the Carolinas Medical Center Trail begins in the northern corner of the Medical Center parking lot. The trail borders a small pond and then another larger pond. There are also several benches along the trail to stop for a rest.

After the second retention pond, the trail follows the sidewalk of the road around the parking lot and then exits the Medical Center. The trail ends when the sidewalk intersects with Buffalo Shoals Rd. This trail offers hospital visitors and patients a wonderful place to take a stroll outdoors.
