Need to Know

The route listed here is from the state park parking lot, but you can also access the trail by parking off Highway 1 and accessing it on the north side of Highway 1.

Description

The trail starts from the parking lot of Andrew Molera State Park. From here, you need to run up a park access road to the signpost of the East Molera Trail, and take a left that takes you underneath Highway 1 and onto the trail.

The trail starts as singletrack, changes over to wide doubletrack, and then, once it gets steep, goes back to narrow singletrack again as it does one giant switchback across a large hill. Once that hill is ascended, you're more or less on the top, and can explore a variety of hills and peaks with spectacular views.

Flora & Fauna

Wildflowers in the spring such as California poppies should definitely be visible. Watch out and check for ticks all throughout these areas as they are abundant!
