Need to Know
Parking available on Valleystone Drive, a residential street.
Description
You get three trails in one with this one. The first 0.7 miles on this rocky, sometimes rutted trail has a modest incline as you cross the creek three times. For the next half mile the rocky trail narrows and the climb intensifies as you hug the creek and cross sides five times. For the final 0.6 miles, you leave the creek entirely and push on a fairly steep climb on a rocky and root-laden trail.
For the most part, creek crossings are fairly straightforward. They are far more challenging following a winter rain and crossings in the second part of the hike may not be possible.
Flora & Fauna
Wildflowers in the springs, including wild irises. Some bird activity.
