Dogs Off-leash
Features
Fall Colors · Views · Wildflowers
This is a day-use only site; no overnight parking or camping. The trails are open year round; but hiking or riding during wet conditions is discouraged.
Need to Know
The trailhead has pit toilets but no water. The trail system is directional with portions open only to bikers and others open to both hikers and bikers. Stay off the biker-only trails and watch for bikers on the mixed use trails.
The best hiking and riding conditions are in the spring and fall or early in the day in the summer. Summers can be very hot and dry, and winter freeze-thaw can make the trail muddy and slippery.
Description
This trail leaves the
RAT Pack Trail just below the saddle and makes its way to the summit of Tin Pan Peak. The top is graced with a now abandoned communications site and some great views of the Rogue River valley. On a clear day, you can see Mount McLoughlin through the trees to the east.
Flora & Fauna
Watch out for poison oak, ticks, and rattlesnakes, particularly if you let your dog off-leash.
