Overview

No additional obstacles needed on this course; Mother Nature has already done all the work. A challenging 14 mile course gives a sampling of San Tan Regional Park's 10,000 acres of Sonoran Desert. Stroll through Malpais wash, barrel down Dynamite, and (suffer) up and over Goldmine.

The 8k course is a little easier on the calves but is challenging just the same. The rolling hills down San Tan, Hedgehog, and Moonlight trails brings you through the creosote flats and saguaro forest.

All participants receive a huge post-race breakfast, a super cool race tee and finisher medal, as well as entry into fun post-race festivities.

Description

One of our more challenging XTERRA Trail Runs, this 14 mile course gives a sampling of San Tan Regional Park's 10,000 acres of Sonoran Desert. Up and over Goldmine you go!

A pretty break in a winter storm, looking directly west of the trail towards San Tan Mountain. This wash is about 0.5 miles from the south end of the Dynamite Trail.

Looking North, at 1750 ft. About a mile from the North trailhead (Dynamite/Goldmine intersection). Views are great the whole trail.

The mountain gets really pretty after a few days of rain. Some Rye, Flowers, Cacti and Phoenix in the distance.
