Dogs Off-leash
Need to Know
Please do not cut switchbacks and leave the area cleaner than you found it. The BLM is being very generous in letting us develop this trail system and we want to show our appreciation by treating the land well!
Description
This is a new loop option opened for 2019 by the Garden Valley Wolverines on Wheels MTB Club in cooperation with the BLM.
The first 0.4 miles are relatively flat and easy, following a long-abandoned logging roadbed. When you reach the end of this roadbed, find the new singletrack dropping off the hill on the left side. There is one steep, tight switchback here, then the trail connects to the old horse trail that follows the creek drainage. Note the orange blaze on the pine tree here; this is the BLM property boundary - please do not turn left and trespass.
Turn right and enjoy the moderately steep descent back to the
Schoolhouse Gulch Trail along the creek.
