Description

This is one of the original trails in the park, constructed for snowmobile use in winter.

The trail starts on the park road, on the right just after it crosses Sprague Brook (the brook itself). Because it starts off with a steep fall line section, you'll see gravel washed down right to the road.

You'll see the Mordue Way section of the new trail going off to your left; that's always an option, but not what we are describing today. Instead, you continue a steep climb, only to cross a knoll and drop down to a very wet section. Maybe someday we will get the park to put some gravel in here.

The wet soon ends and the trail crosses a bridge and starts climbing again. You'll pass a kiosk at the start of the main singletrack loop, but breeze on past this and continue climbing.

The trail gets steeper and steeper as it nears the top. But when you see a huge log over at the other end of the "new trail" you know you are on the top, with just a short stretch until you reach the 2-track connector to the upper campground.
