Powerline Trail, but also get plenty of mellow running through beautiful old growth forests to balance out the difficult climbs.

Restrooms at top of Mount Constitution and bottom of Cold Spring Trail.
Runner Notes
Quite technical at times, and watch out for mountain bikers Oct-May.
Description
Start at Camp Moran, and head about 0.1 mile before turning right onto a paved road (unnamed). In another 0.3 miles or so, turn onto Olga Road (the main paved road heading from Eastsound to Olga.
Head up Mt. Constitution Road for 1.7 miles, then turn right onto Mountain Lake Road. Take the Mountain Lake Trail and cross the bridge below the dam, then turn right toward Cascade Falls. Turn right onto the dirt road at 2.9 miles, then take the trail off to the left after another 0.2 miles.
Keep straight on that trail until you make it to Cascade Falls. Take the bridge over the stream below the falls, then immediately turn right onto the SE Boundary Trail. At 3.7 miles, cross the road and go under the arch then take the first trail on the left (still SE Boundary Trail).
At 4.4 miles, you come to an intersection with Sunrise
Rock Trail—turn right to stay on the SE Boundary Trail, then take the next left onto the
Cascade Lake Trail. Go around the lake, then take an unnamed trail up to the North Arch at 5.4 miles. Cross the road, then head up the West Boundary Trail (
Powerline Trail). At 7.6 miles, take a left onto the North Boundary Trail.
At 9.6 miles, turn right onto the
Mt. Constitution Trail. At the top of Mt. Constitution, cross the parking lot and continue up to the tower, then turn right to stay on the trail. At 11.8 miles, stay right to the Cold Spring Trail, then cross the road 0.2 miles down and continue down the trail. When you reach Cascade Lake at 14.7 miles, don't cross the road. Instead, take a left onto the
Cascade Lake Trail.
Take a right at 15.3 miles to stay on the
Cascade Lake Trail, then cross the road 0.1 miles later. Continue down the trail, then turn left on the dirt road and head up—the finish is in the same place as the start.
